APSC CCE Notification 2026
Assam Public Service Commission has released the official notification of Combined Competitive Examination (Preliminary), 2025 or APSC CCE 2025 for the recruitment of 78 vacancy. Candidates may submit their applications from 13th April 2026 to 3rd May 2026 in online mode. 
 
APSC Combined Competitive Examination or APSC CCE is one of the most prestigious examination conducted by APSC. APSC conducts CCE exams for the recruitment of various Group A posts, i.e., Assam Civil Service, Assam Police Service, Superintendent of Taxes, District Transport Officer, etc.
 
Tentatively, APSC will conduct the  Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2026 on 5th July 2026.

Age Limit: The candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 38 years of age on 01st January 2025. 
 
Educational Qualification:
# The candidate must hold a Degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess such qualification as may be declared equivalent by the Government.
# Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification on the date of submission of their applications

Other Criteria of APSC CCE Exam 2026

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
 
Regional Language Proficiency: The candidate should be able to speak Assamese or other official language or associate official languages of the State or any of the tribal languages of the State.

Residentship:
 A candidate must be an original inhabitant of Assam.

Employment Exchange Registration: A candidate should be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.

Small Family Norms: Candidates have to submit a declaration regarding "The normal Family Norms" in Form-A at the time of applying for the C.C. (Prelim) Examination. 

Age Relaxation:
 The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.

# PwBD: 10 years

Note: Under the Digital India initiative by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, APSC has decided to launch its Online Recruitment portal with the help of CSC-SPV, a MeitY approved organization, which will charge a processing fee of Rs. 40.00/- + 18% tax = Rs.47.20/- from each candidate.

  • A new webpage will be opened.
  • Enter all your personal and educational details as required .
  • Upload your passport sized photograph and signature and other required documents.
  • Pay the examination fee as per your category and at the end click on submit button .
  • Don't forget to take a print of submitted application form .

Selection Process of APSC CCE Exam

The Combined Competitive Examination consists of following two successive stages : - 

(i) The Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
(ii) The Main Examination (Written & Interview/ Personality Test) 

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

The CCE Preliminary Examination consists of two objective type multiple choice question papers of two hours duration each.

Name of exam: CCE Preliminary Examination

Type of questions: Objective type questions

No of question paper: 2 papers

Name of question paper: General Studies-I & General Studies-II

Total marks: 400 marks (200 marks each)

Duration of exam: 2 hours for each paper.

Negative marking: One-fourth of the total mark assigned to one question will be deducted for wrong answer marked by a candidate.

Exam centres: Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hailakandi, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Pathsala, Silchar, Sivasagar, Sonari, Sribhumi, Tamulpur, Tezpur, Tinsukia and Udalguri.

Main Examination (Written & Interview)

The Main Examination consists of

I. Written Examination and

II. Interview Test / Personality Test (After qualifying in written test)


I. Written Examination

On the basis of the result of the Preliminary Examination, the number of candidates to be admitted to the written part of the Main Examination will be 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies notified for each category. The written examination shall consist of six papers of conventional essay type/ objective type with limited words.

Type of questions: Descriptive and Objective type questions

Medium of exam:
 A candidate shall be allowed to write his/her answer papers in English or Assamese language.

Total papers: 6 Papers

Total marks: 1500 Marks (250 marks each)

Duration of exam:
 3 Hours for Each Paper

 Guwahati

II. Interview Test/ Personality Test


Name of exam: 
CCE Main Examination (Interview)

Type of exam: Interview

Total marks: 180 Marks

Exam centre: 
Guwahati.

On the basis of the result of the written part of the Main Examination, candidates will be called for an interview in a ratio of 1:3 against the number of vacancies advertised.
 
Marks thus obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination (Written Part as well as Interview would determine their final ranking.
